Why I Call Them Connection Sessions

I prefer the term "connection session" over traditional engagement photography because that's what these shoots are really about - connecting with each other and with me as your photographer. While engagement photos focus on announcing your upcoming wedding, connection sessions are about capturing the authentic bond you share right now.

These sessions give us time to get comfortable together before your wedding day, explore locations that are meaningful to you, and document your relationship as it is in this moment. Whether we're hiking through the Columbia River Gorge or wandering through your favorite Portland neighborhood, the goal is always the same: creating space for genuine connection to unfold naturally in front of the camera.

By your wedding day, we'll already have that trust and comfort established, which means more authentic, relaxed photos when it matters most.
