Seaside Beach Engagement Proposal // Brianna & Dylan Engagement
If takes a village to raise a child, then sometimes it takes a family to build an engagement proposal site. Okay, fine. So maybe that wasn’t my best attempt at a figurative analogy - but what remains true is that when there’s a collaborative effort in coming together to support a family member’s significant and pivotal moment in their individual love story. So when Brianna’s eldest brother reached out to me and discussed his future brother-in-law’s proposal plan to be set out on the Oregon coast, I jumped on the opportunity to document the much anticipated proposal!
Most engagement proposals I’ve done have been just the couple alone. Having family members there to witness and support Dylan & Brianna’s engagement proposal displayed how much love surrounds these two and the celebration that ensues is also a testament to the bond they all share. In these photos, you’ll find (and feel!) such genuine and authentic enthusiasm for Dylan & Brianna’ future.
After a great collaborative effort of setting up the proposal site with a blanket, pillow-cushions, some flowers and a champagne on ice, family tucks away behind the coastal grass. A call is made to Dylan that everything is good to go and their big moment is waiting for them just around the bend!
I thought my cover was blown for a second when their pup came bouncing towards me as I was pretending to take stalkerish photos of the landscape 😅 Good thing Dylan keeps things on track and turns Brianna’s focus towards a little sweet set-up on the beach.
Brianna said “Yes!” and they sealed it with a kiss. Her twin sister Alisa, along with her then boyfriend, Joe, can be seen peering over the coastal grass like meerkats. You can already tell how giddy they were getting - seeing the whites of their teeth through the grass like a Cheshire cat.
After Alisa runs to greet and celebrate with her twin, the rest of the family joins quickly thereafter. Hugs all around for the newly engaged couple!
After everyone took their turn to congratulate Brianna & Dylan, they take a moment to themselves as they pop a bottle of bubbly and cheers with fluted champagne glass and their engagement dates etched onto it. Oh, and the pup got a new bandana to celebrate his pawrents engagement!
Guess who’s ecstatic to get back to her sister and celebrate the engagement again?!
What’s a better way to document these newly engaged fleeting moments? Run out to the water, feel the sand between your toes and just have fun being in the present, soaking in the moments, knowing that you have forever to make more memories with.
What an honor and a fun memorable experience it was for me to coordinate and work with Brianna & Dylan’s family to document such a signifiant day in their lives. Having family there to immediately celebrate their engagement was a lovingly warm sight to behold and as I left them to continue their celebration, I had a feeling it was not going to be the last time I get to work with them….
